Vol. 427 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dublin Corporation Cleansing Section.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

81 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for the Environment when the cleansing reorganisation plan agreed by Dublin Corporation Management and the trade unions concerned will be approved by his Department; and if the plan is not approved, the reason therefor.

I understand that no agreement has been reached between Dublin Corporation management and the trade unions concerned on a plan for the reorganisation of the cleansing section. I should also point out that under the provisions of the Programme for Economic and Social Progress, only one pay increase can be pursued on behalf of any grade of staff. The workers in the cleansing section form part of the general body of workers in Dublin Corporation who already have a claim before the Labour Court for an increase in their eating-on-site allowance.
