Vol. 427 No. 4

Written Answers. - Chiropody Services.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

74 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health the extent, if any, to which chiropody treatment is available to day residents of special hospital care centres; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Each health board has Day Centres attached to the geriatric hospitals and Day Centres for those suffering from a mental disorder. Chiropody services are available to clients attending these centres. These services are generally provided on a sessional basis. In addition there is a number of Day Centres in each health board area which are run by voluntary bodies. Chiropody services are also available in some of these centres.
