Written Answers. - Second Commission on the Status of Women.

Mary Wallace

Question:

280 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health the priority he intends giving to the implementation of the recommendations of the Second Commission on the Status of Women in his areas of responsibility; and the process of consultation he intends employing on this matter.

I welcome the publication of the report of the Second Commission on the Status of Women. The Commission's recommendations on health, to which I attach a high priority, provide a framework for the development of policy in relation to women's health.

The committee on women's health in my Department is currently reviewing women's health issues and is preparing a plan as recommended in the Commission's report.
