Question:

128 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health the locations where hip replacement operations are carried out; the average cost of such an operation in each location; the average waiting period for this operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The following hospitals perform hip replacement operations:

Adelaide Hospital.

Letterkenny General Hospital

Orthopaedic Hospital, Kilcreene

Our Lady's County Hospital, Navan

Regional Hospital, Merlin Park, Galway

Regional Orthopaedic Hospital, Croom

Sligo General Hospital

St. Mary's Hospital, Cappagh

St. Mary's Hospital, Gurranebraher

Tralee General Hospital

Tullamore General Hospital.

Information regarding average waiting times and average costs of operations is not routinely collected by my Department.
