Vol. 427 No. 8

Written Answers. - Allen (County Kildare) School.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

224 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education the position regarding the provision of a new national school at Allen, County Kildare; if the required funding for the project will be drawn down before the end of 1993; the extent of her proposals, if any, in the case; if she intends to meet the accommodation need before the end of 1993; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

It has been agreed in principle to provide a block of four permanent classrooms at this school. Because of other demands of higher priority which had to take precedence it was not possible to include this project in the 1993 national school capital programme. It will be considered for inclusion in the programme in due course in the light of available resources and other commitments and priorities.
