Vol. 427 No. 8

Written Answers. - Programme Manager.

Phil Hogan

Question:

114 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education the definition, scope and job specification for the position of Programme Manager which has recently been filled by her; if this appointment is necessary in view of the difficult financial situation in the educational system generally; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The programme manager appointed by me essentially has the task of advancing the educational policies set out in the Programme for Government. He will also liaise with the programme managers appointed by other Ministers so as to ensure that the overall Programme for Government is implemented in a co-ordinated and efficient way. I am satisfied that the appointment of the programme manager is fully justified.
