Question:

237 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for the Environment the annual budgeting allocation for the construction of halting sites for travellers in 1993, and in each of the years from 1985 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A provision of £3 million for the construction of serviced caravan parks (halting sites) for travellers was included in the local authority housing construction allocations for each of the years 1986 to 1993. The corresponding figure for 1985 was £1.75 million.
