Vol. 428 No. 1

Written Answers. - St. Patrick's Day Celebrations.

Jim Higgins

Question:

393 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the countries recently visited by him in connection with St. Patrick's Day celebrations; the countries visited by the Minister of State in his Department; the composition of the official party; and the total cost to the Exchequer in each case.

I participated in a joint Bord Fáilte/An Bord Tráchtála promotion in England around the St. Patrick's Day period, accompanied by my personal secretary, two officials from my Department, and representatives of the two agencies.

As is the norm on such occasions, the cost of ministerial participation for this promotion will be met by the agencies, who I understand are still finalising costs for the event.

There is no Minister of State in my Department.
