Vol. 428 No. 1

Written Answers. - Primary Schools Building Programme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

517 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education the primary schools in County Kerry which received funding from the 1993 capital allocation for primary school buildings.

The capital allocation for primary schools provides for expenditure on major building projects, emergency and minor improvement schemes, furniture and equipment, prefabricated classrooms and, in the case of All-Irish schools, costs of site acquisition. As a consequence, a major proportion of all schools in County Kerry will qualify for a capital grant during 1993.

In respect of major primary school building projects in County Kerry construction work is under way or scheduled to be commenced in 1993 on the following primary schools: Aughatubrid national school, Barraduff national school, Minard Castle/Lispole national school, Castlemaine national school, Kilmoyley national school.
