Question:

110 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Taoiseach the number of individuals in each county whose principal occupation was farming in the years 1971, 1981 and 1991.

The information requested by the Deputy is shown in the attached table. The data for 1971 and 1981 is taken from the Censuses of Population for those years. The relevant information for 1991 is only available at present from the Labour Force Survey down to the level of planning region.
