Question:158 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Finance if he will include in the Office of Public Works drainage maintenance scheme a drain (details supplied) in County Mayo.
Written Answers. - County Mayo Drainage Maintenance.
The drain in question is situated in the Breaffy area of the Moy River Catchment, County Mayo. It was not included in the drainage scheme for the catchment carried out by the Commissioners of Public Works under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945. As the Commissioners' functions are statutorily confined to the maintenance of the completed works of the scheme, they are not in a position to undertake the additional works now requested.
