49 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Finance if he is considering a request from the employees of the company Digital Limited in County Galway for an increase in the tax free allowance in respect of redundancy lump sums awarded on an involuntary basis; and if so, when a decision will be made on the matter.

I have received representations on behalf of Digital workers and I am currently examining the general tax treatment of workers who are made redundant. I intend to conclude my consideration as soon as possible.
