Written Answers. - Status of Women.

John Bruton

Question:

62 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment his views on the recommendations of the Second Commission on the Status of Women that health and safety standards and other protective legislation should apply in the case of home working.

The Minister for Labour Affairs, Deputy O'Rourke, has established a working group to examine the recommendations contained in the report of the Second Commission on the Status of Women, which come within her area of responsibility. The particular recommendation referred to by the Deputy is one of those which will be examined by the working group which held its inaugural meeting on 19 March.

The Minister has asked the working group to report back to her as soon as possible.
