Question:

111 Ms. McManus asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the visa section of her Department is very inaccessible to the public as the telephones are only available to the public three mornings per week from 10 a.m. to 12 noon; and if, in view of the fact that it is virtually impossible to get through to the visa section in these hours because of demands, she intends to make this section more accessible.

In order to increase the accessibility of the visa section of my Department to the general public, the number of dedicated telephone lines to that section has recently been increased from three to ten. The operation of these additional lines will be monitored to ensure that inquiries are answered as quickly as possible.
