Question:89 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the number of gun-attacks in the north inner city area of Dublin during the past 12 months and the number of these attacks which were related to drug pushing activities.
Written Answers. - Dublin Gun Attacks.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that there were nine recorded cases involving the alleged use of firearms in the north inner city area of Dublin during the period referred to by the Deputy.
It is not the practice of the Minister for Justice to give detailed information to the House about individual Garda investigations except in singular instances where the circumstances are so exceptional that such a course is deemed to be appropriate.
All I propose to say in this case is that I have been informed by the Garda authorities that there are a number of persons before the Courts in relation to a number of these incidents and the remainder are the subject of Garda investigations.
