Vol. 429 No. 5

Ceisteanna-Questions. Oral Answers.

The questions we are about to embark on are Priority Questions for which 20 minutes only is provided in Standing Orders.

On a point of order, and with no disrespect to the Minister, I object to the way some of my questions are being taken.

Deputy Deenihan, please desist from this type of interruption.

I will be writing to the Committee on Procedure and Privileges in this regard.

This is most audacious and I deeply resent it.

I am making a point.

The Deputy is not entitled to make such a point and he is interfering with the precious time available for dealing with Priority Questions. I resent this interference.

I will be making this point to the Committee on Procedure and Privileges.

The Deputy will not be allowed to make such a point at this stage.

Deputy Deenihan should realise that the Ceann Comhairle is a tougher man to deal with than Jimmy Barry Murphy or Matt Connor.
