Question:273 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will introduce a ban on all alcohol advertising on RTE.
Written Answers. - Alcohol Advertising Ban.
I have no plans to introduce a restriction as proposed by the Deputy but I would be guided in this matter by the advice of my colleague, the Minister for Health. As the Deputy is no doubt aware, RTE at present does not carry any advertising for so-called "hard liquor" drinks. Advertisements for other types of alcohol are only transmitted under restrictive conditons.
