Vol. 429 No. 6

Written Answers. - Funding to Reduce Waiting Lists.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

290 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health the amount allocated to the South-Eastern Health Board from the £20 million fund to reduce waiting lists; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As the Deputy is aware, the Government has allocated £20 million for a major action programme to reduce hospital in-patients waiting times. Detailed discussions are nearing completion with health boards and hospitals, including the South-Eastern Health Board, with the objective of implementing Government decisions regarding hospital in-patient waiting times. I will shortly be announcing my decisions in regard to the allocation of the £20 million.
