Vol. 429 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Extension Delay.

John J. Ryan

Question:

318 Mr. J. Ryan asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in allowing the extension and renovations plan for Carrig national school near Birr, County Tipperary, which is already sanctioned and for which moneys have been allocated in the current capital programme for 1993, go to tender; and if work will be completed before the commencement of the new school year in September 1993.

The Carrig national school building project is included in the 1993 Primary Schools Capital Programme with provision for commencement of construction work in early summer. A building contractor was appointed recently and building work is scheduled to be commenced in May. The building contract period will be 12 months.
