Vol. 429 No. 6

Written Answers. - Embassy Staff, Moscow.

Peter Barry

Question:

59 Mr. Barry asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the strength of our Embassy staff in Moscow; if it has increased over the past two years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The diplomatic staff of the Embassy in Moscow comprises the ambassador, two first secretaries (one of whom serves on secondment from An Bord Tráchtála and is responsible for commercial matters), a third secretary and an administrative attaché. There are two Dublin-based clerical support staff and three other locally recruited office staff. The staffing of the Embassy has not increased over the past two years.

The ambassador in Moscow is accredited to Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
