Vol. 430 No. 2

Written Answers. - Ministerial/Departmental Appointments.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

146 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if, in respect of his Department or of his Minister of State, he will give the names of any persons or agents, other than the established Civil Service, appointed by him to any position within the ambit of his Department since 10 February 1993; if he will give their job descriptions, terms of employment and salary scale; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

On 11 February last I appointed Mr. Paul McDonnell as my Personal Secretary, with a salary scale of £147.69 to £217.95 per week. The appointment is subject to the terms and conditions of a standard contract which was determined by the Department of Finance. This contract is presently being finalised.

Question:

147 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if, in respect of his Department or of his Minister for State, he will give the names of persons or their agents, appointed by him to State or semi-State agencies or bodies since 10 February 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The only appointment I have made since 10 February to a State or semi-State agency under the aegis of my Department was the re-appointment of Mr. Sean Ó Murchú as a temporary employee member of the Labour Court for the period from 10 April 1993 to 9 July 1993.
