Question:301 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education when she intends to publish an analysis of the 1992 Junior and Leaving Certificates.

The analysis of subjects in the Certificate Examinations is phased on a set of subjects based and carried out over a number of years. This year reports were due to be compiled on Junior Certificate Art, Irish and Spanish. The report on Art was issued on 23 March. It is hoped to issue the reports on Irish and Spanish shortly.
A detailed analysis of the Leaving Certificate results was undertaken by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment in respect of 1989 and 1991. It is the intention that such analysis be done periodically rather than annually. However, a detailed breakdown of results by subject is published every year both in respect of the Junior and Senior Certificate Examination.
