Vol. 430 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Service Provision.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

82 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself that the level of health service provision is adequate to cope with the requirements of the large influx of tourists during the peak tourist season.

I am satisfied that the level of funding for the health service this year is sufficient to maintain services at last year's level, provided that the targets each agency was given in relation to income generation and savings are met. I am satisfied that hospital facilities throughout the country are in a position to cope adequately with any demands arising during the tourist season.
