Vol. 430 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) School.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

79 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education when it is intended to sanction the construction of the all Irish second level school in the Tallaght area of Dublin 22, as was promised in November 1992; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Approval has been given by my Department to County Dublin Vocational Education Committee for the establishment under their aegis of an all-Irish post primary school as from 1 September, 1993. In accordance with standard practice the approval is for a trial period of six years.

The matter of the povision of suitable accommodation in which the school could be temporarily housed during the trial period is currently being pursued by the Committee.
