Vol. 430 No. 3

Written Answers. - Caravan Park Site Rents.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

110 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment if he will amend the law in relation to rents, which can be charged on caravan park sites, in order to ensure that a fair system applies, having particular regard to the facts in the case of a person in Dublin 12, and the reply of the Minister for Justice to a recent parliamentary question (details supplied).

I have no function in the determination of rents for sites in private caravan parks. The only statutory provisions that apply to the determination of rents in the private sector relate to formerly controlled dwellings under the Housing (Private Rented Dwellings) Acts 1982 and 1983. I have no proposals to extend provisions of this kind to caravan parks.
