Vol. 430 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Museum.

Ivor Callely

Question:

179 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the total value of items in the care of the National Museum; and if he has satisfied himself that they are adequately covered for insurance purposes.

The National Museum holds the National Collection which incorporates the vast bulk of the portable heritage of the country. The National Collection as a whole is irreplaceable and priceless and is indemnified by the State.
