Vol. 430 No. 5

Written Answers. - Lough Allen (Leitrim) Mooring Facilities.

John Ellis

Question:

95 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, the Office of Public Works has to develop mooring facilities on Lough Allen, County Leitrim.

Work is currently in progress to extend navigation from Acres Lake into Lough Allen. It is expected that Lough Allen will be open for navigation from the commencement of the next boating season.

It is intended, subject to funds being available, to develop mooring facilities on Lough Allen as quickly as possible following completion of the current works.

A decision has not yet been made on the location of such facilities. The matter is under consideration and site investigations will have to be carried out in order to determine suitable locations.
