Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to the Ceann Comhairle under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Jim Higgins — the need for the Minister for Health to make the necessary funds available to the Western Health Board-Western Care Association to prevent the withdrawal of crisis relief for the parents of an autistic child (details supplied) in County Mayo; (2) Deputy Michael Noonan (Limerick East)— the appointment of concessionary teachers to a school (details supplied) in Limerick; (3) Deputy Haughey — the need for the Minister for Education to place a child with special difficulties (details supplied) in a suitable primary school, given that this child has had no full time education since November 1991; (4) Deputy Molloy — an iarratas ó Muintir Inis Oírr, Árainn, Contae na Gaillimhe, agus Coiste Gairmoideachais. Contae Na Gaillimhe go gcuirfear an méanscoil ar an oiléan faoi cúram an Choiste Gairmoideachais; (5) Deputy Cullen — the position on the preparation and finalisation of the Government's submission to Brussels for the next tranche or EC Structural Funds for Ireland, with special reference to the vital infrastructure of Waterford city and the wider south-east region of the country; (6) Deputy Shatter — the measures that should be taken to ensure that convicted sexual offenders do not harass and intimidate their victims; (7) Deputy O'Donoghue — the need for the Minister for Health to allocate sufficient funds to enable a reasonable speech therapy service in County Kerry; (8) Deputy Doyle — the demolition of five Georgian houses below the Sunlight Chambers on Essex Quay by Temple Bar Properties; (9) Deputy Gilmore — the implications for domestic consumers of the changes in telephone charges approved by the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications; (10) Deputy McManus — the need to review security arrangements for the movement of large sums of money in the light of the robbery of £66,000 from Bray labour exchange, County Wicklow, despite the fact that the money had received a Garda escort to the door of the exchange; (11) Deputy Power — the changes in Telecom charges and the need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to explain the rebalancing of these charges; (12) Deputy Deenihan — the failure of the Government to provide funding for a kidney dialysis unit at Tralee General Hospital, Kerry; (13) Deputy Hugh Byrne — the one-third reduction in the grant-aid available towards harbour development and coastal erosion on the south-east and east coasts, and (14) Deputy Mary Wallace — the concerns expressed by students in third level colleges that their autonomous facilities are being systematically undermined by college authorities as the matter is now coming to a head in the largest university, UCD, where the 14,000 strong members' club is under immediate threat.

The Ceann Comhairle has selected for discussion the matters raised by the following Deputies: (1) Deputy Cullen, (2) Deputy Shatter, (3) Deputy Gilmore and (4) Deputy Jim Higgins.
