Vol. 430 No. 6

Written Answers. - Parking Notices.

Ivor Callely

Question:

77 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice the total number of parking notices issued in 1992; the number of these notices which were paid within the 21 day period; the number brought to court; the number which are still outstanding; the costs involved in bringing such matters to court; and the mean cost of each case that is brought before the courts.

I am informed by the Garda Authorities that 324,145 parking notices were issued in 1992. However, due to the manner in which data regarding parking notices is compiled, it is not possible to give the other information requested with regard to these notices.
