Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) An Teachta Ó Maoildhia — an iarratas ó muintir Inis Oírr, Arainn, Contae na Gaillimhe, agus coiste gairmoideachais Contae na Gaillimhe go gcuirfear an meanscoil ar an oiléan faoi cúram an choiste gairmoideachais; (2) Deputy Hugh Bryne — the one-third reduction in the grant-aid available towards harbour development and coastal erosion on the south-east and east coasts; (3) Deputy Ó Cuív — the need to provide funding for the provision of extra geriatric beds in Merlin Park, Áras Mhic Dara, Carraroe, and Clifden Hospitals in County Galway; (4) Deputy Doyle — the need for the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works to give assurances that the designation of Wexford harbour as a special protection area for birds will not interfere with current usage to allay the fears of many groups in relation to future use of the harbour areas; (5) Deputies Cox and O'Malley — the status of the intended investment of £16 million in GPA in view of the latest developments and if investment made by the Government will be aimed at ensuring the continuation in business of GPA-associated companies such as Shannon Aerospace; (6) Deputy Broughan — the lack of effective appeal procedures from the Garda Complaints Board in view of the circumstances of the case of a person (details supplied); (7) Deputy Enda Kenny — the need for the provision of a long-awaited and much needed kidney dialysis unit at Mayo General Hospital, County Mayo; (8) Deputy O'Donnell — the services and facilities available to persons damaged by the whooping cough vaccine in view of the Supreme Court decision in the Kenneth Best case and (9) Deputy Haughey — the need for the Minister for Education to place a child with special difficulties (details supplied) in a suitable primary school, given that this child has had no full-time education since November 1991.

The Ceann Comhairle has selected for discussion the matters raised by the following Deputies: Deputies Cox and O'Malley; Deputy Enda Kenny; An Teachta Ó Maoildhia and Deputy Haughey.
