Vol. 430 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cost of Residential Tax.

Pat Cox

Question:

62 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for Finance the administrative costs and staff that will be required to deal with the residential tax.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that at present 14 staff are directly employed in the administration of Residential Property Tax at an annual cost of £350,000. It is estimated that the new clearance certificate scheme in respect of the tax will require four additional staff at an annual cost of £85,000.
