88 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment if there are any plans for the discontinuation of the grant aiding of group water schemes as presently operating and their replacement with local authority originated schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have no plans to discontinue the payment of grants to private group water schemes. I do propose, however, to devolve the administration of these grants to county councils on the basis of suitable financial and other arrangements.
