Vol. 431 No. 3

Written Answers. - Health Services Funding.

Michael P. Kitt

Question:

201 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Health the basis for the allocations to the health boards for capital works in each health board area in 1993; and the basis for further allocations in 1993.

The capital funding available to my Department in 1993 will be spent on the developments that are most urgently required to maintain and improve the infrastructure of the health services. The distribution of these resources will be influenced to a considerable degree by the location of the major hospital developments.

I will be reviewing the capital programme from time to time to ensure that the resources available are deployed to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the existing system and to support the development of community based services.

Ivor Callely

Question:

202 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health the capital programme expenditure in his Department under the various programmes for hospitals, community based services and other such areas for the years 1990 to 1992.
