19 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he has received the report of the study undertaken by his Department in relation to the work carried out by Agricultural Officers employed in meat plants; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I presume the Deputy is referring to a recent agreement between my Department and IMPACT, the union representing technical grades in meat inspection. It was agreed to conduct an in-depth study of the Department's operations in meat plants.
My Department is preparing a working document on the issues involved. It will take some time to complete the exercise.
