Vol. 431 No. 3

Written Answers. - Trainee (Kerry) Offices.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

23 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will ensure that Agriculture House, Oakpark, Tralee, County Kerry, which currently houses Teagasc, will remain in public ownership in view of its considerable architectural importance.

The building at Oakpark, Tralee is now too big for Teagasc requirements. It is being sold because of the reasonability on Teagasc, in common with all public bodies, to utilise the resources at their disposal in the most cost effective manner possible.

I do not accept that the architectural importance of the building necessitates its retention in public ownership.
