Vol. 431 No. 3

Written Answers. - Interpretative Centres.

Michael Bell

Question:

104 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Finance the cost incurred per week in relation to the closure of each interpretative centre following the High Court decision; with whom the responsibility for the payment to the contractors rests; the level of payment to each contractor; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Cost incurred by the suspension of work on three interpretative centres have not yet been fully settled with all the contractors as certain payments are partly contingent upon the decision of the Supreme Court in relation to appeals before it on planning issues.

Legal advice is being sought as to where ultimate responsibility for payment to contractors will rest.
