Vol. 431 No. 5

Written Answers. - Interference with Garda Summons.

Noel Ahern

Question:

41 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice if, in relation to recent media reports regarding a driving summons being internally interfered with at Donnybrook Garda Station, Dublin 4, she will examine in her investigations a case (details supplied) at the same Garda Station where similar mistakes/interference is perceived to have taken place.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that while certain delays arose in this case they are satisfied that the case in question was properly investigated and prosecuted. Any perception that these were what the Deputy describes as "mistakes/interference" is misplaced.
