73 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Justice if she will list the Neighbourhood Watch schemes in operation in County Limerick; and the proportion of the population of the county now covered by such schemes.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that there are currently 61 neighbourhood watch schemes in operation in County Limerick involving some 11,145 households. Figures are not available in relation to the number of persons who reside in each participating household. However, it is estimated that the number of households involved represents approximately 26 per cent of all households in County Limerick.
