Vol. 431 No. 6

Written Answers. - Fermoy (Cork) Water Shortage.

Paul Bradford

Question:

77 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received all the requested details from Fermoy Urban District Council, County Cork, concerning the proposed water supply scheme, stage 3, to serve Fermoy town and environs; if so, if he has studied these; if, in view of the ongoing water shortages in the Fermoy area and the vital necessity of the proposed scheme in the future economic development of Fermoy, he will now, as requested by Fermoy Urban District Council, meet with a deputation from that body to discuss the matter further.

Details regarding possible future industrial, tourism and domestic demand for water were submitted by Fermoy Urban District Council in April 1993. I will consider the request to meet a further deputation when the assessment of the submission has been completed.
