Vol. 432 No. 1

Written Answers. - Culliton Report Legislation.

John Bruton

Question:

115 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has any proposals to introduce legislation to deal with any aspect of the Government decisions on the Culliton report; and if so, if he will give details of the proposed legislation.

The Government decisions on the Culliton report of relevance to the Department of Foreign Affairs focus on improved co-ordination mechanisms between the agencies and Government Departments involved in promoting foreign earnings, staff training and the selection and promotion procedures operating in the Department. My Department is now acting on these decisions which do not require legislation for their implementation.
