Vol. 432 No. 1

Written Answers. - Annual Reports and Accounts for 1991.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

137 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the reason the Annual Reports and Accounts for 1991 of the Registry of Friendly Societies, Sealúchais Árachais Teoranta and the Labour Court have not yet been submitted.

The report of Sealúchais Árachais Teoranta for 1991 was submitted to me on 11 May, 1993 and will be presented shortly to the Oireachtas in accordance with the relevant provisions.

The Registrar of Friendly Societies exceptionally decided to produce his report for the period 1990-1992 and this he is currently finalising. He anticipates submitting this to me by September next and the report will then be presented in accordance with the relevant provisions as soon as possible. I have impressed upon the Registrar the need to ensure that this future report will be submitted to me within the time limit of six months of the financial year to which they refer.
The drafting of the Labour Court's annual report for 1991 is at an advanced stage and the Court proposes to issue it this year together with the 1992 report, which is currently being drafted.
