Vol. 432 No. 2

Written Answers. - Lucan (Dublin) Road Junction.

Austin Currie

Question:

74 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Justice whether the Chief Super-intendent, the Traffic Department, and the Dublin Metropolitan Headquarters who, according to the reply to a Parliamentary Question on 16 February 1993, and subsequent correspondence of 26 February 1993, were to fully examine and arrange for any remedial action considered necessary to improve safety of the junction of the slipway and bridge at the Foxhunter Public House on the Lucan Bypass, have reported; if so, the action, if any, which is being taken; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that they have examined the junction in question and they are satisfied that the location is adequately sign-posted. I am further assured that the area is regularly patrolled by local gardaí in order to ensure compliance of the Road Traffic Acts including those provisions relating to dangerous driving and speeding.
