Vol. 432 No. 3

Written Answers. - Western Health Board Accounts.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

170 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Health the reason a copy of the Local Government Auditor's Report on the accounts of the Western Health Board for the two-year period ended 31 December 1991, furnished to him in October 1992, has not been yet sent to the health board.

The audited abstract of accounts of the Western Health Board, for the two years ended 31 December 1991, together with the auditor's report thereon, were received in my Department on 13 January 1993. These accounts, together with the accounts and audit reports of five other boards for the same period were included in a presentation to the Oireachtas in May 1993.

In accordance with usual practice, each chief executive officer has been asked to furnish his observations on his auditor's report and, as soon as all of these have been received, the audit reports will be sent to each health board.
