P. J. Sheehan

Question:

76 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his ewe premium and sheep headage grants for 1992.

There was a problem over the allocation of a separate herd number and a flock number to the person named and his son. The problem has now been resolved and all payments due under the 1992 ewe premium and sheep headage schemes will be made shortly.

77 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive the second and final payments of his refrigerated bulk tank grant.

The position is the EC scheme of grants for refrigerated bulk tanks is administered by the Irish Co-operative Society (ICOS) through the local dairy co-operatives. The relevant EC regulations and contractual arrangements with ICOS require that organisation to submit a final report to my Department on the effect of the measures carried out. On receipt of a satisfactory report funds will be transferred by my Department to enable them make the final payments of the grants. ICOS expect to have the report with my Department within the next few weeks.
