Vol. 432 No. 6

Written Answers. - Financial Services Centre.

Seán Barrett

Question:

89 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for Finance the steps, if any, he intends to take to ensure that those who have been granted licences to operate in the Financial Services Centre move their operations to the designated area.

The present extent of office accommodation in the docks area is not sufficient to accommodate all of the companies who have been approved to operate from there.

There remains only a limited amount of available office accommodation in one of the 5 existing office blocks. All of the other blocks are fully let. Efforts are on going to fill this remaining space.

The next phase of development of the docks area will involve, among other things, the construction of additional office accommodation. The Custom House Docks Development Authority are actively pursuing a pre-letting proramme in respect of the first block of additional office space, Harbourmaster III.
