Vol. 433 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Out-Patient Charges.

Ivor Callely

Question:

116 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the concern about the new £6 charge per visit for hospital out-patients and in particular in relation to kidney patients who require regular out-patients services; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have announced that I am having a full review of public hospital charges carried out. I have received correspondence from the Irish Kidney Association regarding the out-patient charge and I have asked the Review Group to look specifically at the points raised by the Association. Whatever changes are made as a result of this review will be implemented next year.
