The select committee has considered the Bill and the Bill is reported to the Dáil without amendment.
Waiver of Certain Tax, Interest and Penalties Bill, 1993: Report of Select Committee on Finance and General Affairs.
As I understand this is one of the first Finance Bills in years to be dealt with in special committee, regardless of its merits — and it has none — at least every amendment was reached and discussed. That is a tribute to the committee system and a testimony that it is working well.
In accordance with the order of the House today, Report Stage of that Bill will be taken now.
