Vol. 433 No. 5
27 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the legislative priorities he has for the remainder of 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
My legislative priorities for the remainder of 1993 are drawn from the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993-1997. In particular I intend to progress legislative proposals relating to anti-discrimination in employment and on adoptive leave.
The full range of legislative proposals in the family law area which I intend will be introduced in 1993 were outlined in my reply to Dáil Questions on 1 June, 1993.
I am also preparing an Equal Status Bill and a Bill to amend the Maternity Protection of Employees Act, 1981 to give effect to the EC Directive on Pregnant Workers.
