Vol. 433 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Meath Schools.

John Bruton

Question:

136 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if she has evaluated the extent of improved facilities required at primary schools in County Meath; the extent to which such improvements are likely to be provided during the school holidays; the locations at which this is to happen; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The major building projects at national schools in County Meath which are already underway, which are in course of planning or which are under consideration are as follows:

Ashbourne All-Irish,

Kilmessan,

Robinstown,

Longwood,

Dunshaughlin All-Irish.

Numerous improvement works are carried out on an ongoing basis at various schools throughout the country. It would not be possible to give specific details of these improvement works as it would require an inordinate amount of staff time to procure this information.

Building and improvement works at national schools are initiated on the basis of applications by the school authorities for grant-aid towards works which they consider necessary.
