Vol. 433 No. 7

Written Answers. - Blood Supplies.

Martin Cullen

Question:

45 Mr. Cullen asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself with the present stocks of blood available in the blood bank; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been assured by the Blood Transfusion Service Board that it is the board's policy to maintain two days supply of blood at all times for emergency purposes. I am informed by the board that three days supply of blood was in stock on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
